I'm a big fan of design blogs and for travelers, they are often a great source for shopping advice. One of these stellar design bloggers is Holly Becker of Decor 8. She's lucky enough to have just set up a second home in Hannover, Germany and is documenting the experience of designing a home abroad at her new blog Haus Maus.

Not only does she offer loads of design inspiration and eye candy, but we found a great tidbit of travel advice.....how she beats jetlag.

I've never actually put much thought into jetlag myself, figuring it was a necessary evil and if I didn't give too much thought to it, then it wouldn't bother me too much. Mind over matter, I suppose.

Reading Holly's extensive jetlag routine made me question my approach to it. Her advice ranges from eating lots of water-laden foods beforehand, drinking lots of herbal tea during the flight, and avoiding sleep. She takes it all in stride the next day, knowing that she's lost a night's sleep but needs to push on and embrace her new time zone. I always try to force myself to try to sleep on a flight, I wonder how I would survive doing the opposite?

What about you, what's your strategy for avoiding jetlag?

Go read it all here.
