Whenever I'm hitting the road, my first thought is always "who do I know there?" I often go to locals for advice, but my circle of friends can't cover the entire globe. So, when I spied the site Spotted by Locals, a series of cityblogs written by locals, I was excited to find some new virtual friends to point out the best a city has to offer.

Covering a range of cities across Europe, Spotted by Locals is the brainchild of two Amsterdam locals and travel addicts. They handpick their city experts, who provide a range of opinions, interests, and insight on a city. Maybe it's a party boat/hostel in Berlin or an organic market in Paris, either way you'll be traveling outside of the guidebook.
So, the next time you're thinking about planning a trip, head over and see what the locals are loving. Or keep your eye on some of your favorite cities for inspiration and motivation to get on a plane and back there.

I love this website, as a "local" in Rome, the recommendations they give are spot on. In fact, I would recognize this second photo anywhere. It's Micca Club in Rome, which is definitely local, and definitely cool.
Can't wait until Zurich comes online. As a newcomer in this magnificent city there is a lot to learn from the locals!
