Try This Site: Darn Good Digs

by kelly on
hotels at Darn Good Digs

Whether you're far off the beaten path or in the middle of Rome, finding a great place to stay can make a great trip that much better. Darn Good Digs highlights unique, independently owned accommodations from all over the world, all of which are under $150 a night (even during peak season).

We think this site is great for the frugal traveler who appreciates a first hand recommendation or for the backpacker who doesn't necessarily want to stay in a hostel. Their reviews give a feel for the hotel's assets rather than someone's rant about a bad stay, allowing you to make a better decision to fit your needs. The site's content isn't huge yet, but is growing day by day with user-submitted recommendations. Add your own favorites and check out the curated Darn Good Digs approved list for some stellar hotel options for your next trip.

Thanks for writing about Damn Good Digs. Just an FYI that the link at the top of the story doesn't work.

cheers, Mark

Thanks Mark, it's fixed now! :)

This is nice! DGD is a damn good site!

Will definitely check this out! If I get to stay in that picture..yes, indeed! Have you tried this yourself? How did you find it?

Kelly, we love your post! We know how difficult it can be to describe what Darn Good Digs is in a nutshell, and you say it perfectly. Thank you!

We're definitely thrilled to get new visitors to our site, and we also want to put in a plug to all travellious readers - if you know of any hidden gems that are independently owned and don't cost a fortune, please nominate them! That's how we build our content.

All the best,

Allison and Michael
