When it comes to exciting travel gear, utensils aren't the first thing that come to mind. However, having your own eating tools when you're on the road can mean the difference between being able to fend for yourself, or having to drag yourself into a restaurant.
Today at Travellious Test Labs, I'm going to be reviewing the all-in-one eating tool, the Light My Fire Spork.
I've been meaning to try it out for a while, so when I saw one at REI, I bit the bullet and picked one up. In order to figure out whether I'd actually want to use it while I'm traveling, I've been using it every chance I get. From eating a salad, to slurping soup, it's been my trusty sidekick for the past week and a half. How did it hold up? Look below for the results.
In the interest of good testing, I tried the Light My Fire Spork with every kind of food I could. I devoured soup and cereal. Bananas and cucumbers fell beneath my mighty blade. No leaf of lettuce was safe from my powerful...spork. In all seriousness, the spork was useful at every meal, without exception. I got my hands a little messy when I was eating a saucy meal (switching from fork-mode to the spoon), but otherwise, eating went off without a hitch. Should you consider getting one of these? If you've ever stepped into a grocery store on a trip, absolutely. They're durable, useful with a large range of foods, and easy to clean. Plus, you can pack them without much effort.
