This question came into our inbox recently:
Like to hear some local information about Mazatlan. We are going there in June. It is supposed to be a great location for deep sea fishing - marlin, tuna, bonita, etc. Would be great to learn who the best local fishing charters are. Thanks, Matt
We haven't been to Mexico, but got some great advice from fellow traveler and Seattlite, Mary Jo Manzanares who blogs at Traveling with MJ.
Take a pulmonaria to Old Mazatlan and grab a drink at La Tertulia (bull fighter bar). It's a couple blocks off the Historic Square and a great place to people watch & have a beer. Afterwards, grab a bite to eat at El Tunel.
If you've only ever encountered "Mexican" food in the United States, you'd be understandably underwhelmed by the prospect of eating it while you're traveling. However, the reality of Mexican cuisine is that it is as delicious, diverse, and amazing as anywhere in the world. Don't assume that it's the same all over; the food you get if you visit Mexico City isn't the same as you'll get in another province. If you're lucky enough to be visiting the capital city of Mexico, check out our list below and we'll help prepare you to take full advantage of this remarkable cuisine.
Kelsey and Tom caught this great photo while staying in Marzatlan, Mexico. They are cruising through Central and South America in Marlin, their VW Golf. You can keep up with them at their blog, JoyDrive.
