This gift list won't talk about traditional travel gear and it wont tell you to get an iPad. You already know about that stuff or we've covered some of it in past. (Those old lists, they are still really excellent, by the way. In 2008 we tackled gifts for first time travelers, backpackers, urban seeks and diy options. In 2009, we kept it quirky with guides to two of our favorite sources for offbeat goods, Fred Flare and Etsy. And last year, we rounded up some more favorites in our 2010 guide.) But enough about the past, let's move onto the present and show you some of the things that have caught our eye this holiday season.

What can you possibly get your favorite traveler as a gift? Whether they're a backpacker, photography nut, a frequent flyer, or just your run-of-the-mill travel addict, we've got some ideas that'll help you out this holiday season.
Gifts don't always have to be practical. When searching for offbeat gifts for the traveler, we went to one of our favorite offbeat stores, Fred Flare. In between the heart-shaped sunglasses (which, I sooo want) and mustache combs, we found a few travel-related gifts for that person in your life that doesn't take life too seriously.

With the holidays just around the corner, we've started thinking about the dreaded task of buying gifts. For us, we're usually gifting ourselves with trips or asking our loved ones to contribute to the fund, but you want to give something a little more tangible. So, over the next week we'll be sharing some of our favorite gift ideas for the traveler. First stop, our favorite online source for all things handmade, Etsy.
It's no secret that we're big fans of Etsy here, so we turned to some our favorite sellers and discovered some new ones with travel worthy gear.

Budgets may be tight this year, but we think making a gift is better than buying one any day. If you're short on cash, but still want to spoil your travel addict, we've come up with some ideas for gifts to make for them. (Warning, sewing skills may be needed.)
Today's gift guide is focused on the backpacker, the encumbered nomad, the freedom-seeker.

Today's gift selection is for that newly budding travel addict that's about the head out into that great big world and you want to be sure they have the essentials.

It's that time of year again, so we're putting together a selection of great gifts for your favorite traveler, whether they're a first-time traveler or a seasoned backpacker. Today we're focusing on the urban traveler: the museum explorer, cafe eater, and lover of all things city.
