This question came into our inbox recently:
Like to hear some local information about Mazatlan. We are going there in June. It is supposed to be a great location for deep sea fishing - marlin, tuna, bonita, etc. Would be great to learn who the best local fishing charters are. Thanks, Matt
We haven't been to Mexico, but got some great advice from fellow traveler and Seattlite, Mary Jo Manzanares who blogs at Traveling with MJ.
Take a pulmonaria to Old Mazatlan and grab a drink at La Tertulia (bull fighter bar). It's a couple blocks off the Historic Square and a great place to people watch & have a beer. Afterwards, grab a bite to eat at El Tunel.
I found myself standing in the travel aisle of Target yesterday contemplating the merits of one of those travel neck pillows. You know, those oversized u-shaped pillows people cart around attached to their carry-on or inflate once they get on the plane. I'm not much of a sleeper on an airplane, so I've never actually had the desire to use a pillow. But, two red eye flights in three days and some botched planning on my part putting me in a middle seat for eight hours made me start to wonder if I actually might *need* one of these things.
This topic keeps popping up, whether it be informally with friends or in more serious travel blogger debates. It's that taboo question that no one wants to ask, but everyone wants to know the answer. How do you pay for it? So, we're curious to poll you and ask you "how do you pay for your travels?" We're not asking for full financial disclosure, just a sense of what it is that you do that allows you to travel the world far and wide. Feel free to leave a comment and share your philosophy.
It's springtime here in Seattle and the sea of blooms in pinks, purples and greens are a welcome break from the gray winter skies. But, it made us start to think about where we enjoy visiting in the Spring and where we'd like to see in bloom. So, we ask you the question, what's your favorite Spring trip? Where have you been that you loved or where do you want to go?

If you can make it through a trip with someone, chances are you'll be friends for life. Close quarters, uncertain circumstances, and individual agendas. Nothing tests a friendship quicker than a trip abroad, and we want to know have your friendships stood the the test of travel? Do you have a horror story or criteria someone has to meet before you'd even think about setting out on the road with them?
Do you have trouble sleeping when you're away from home? If you do, what do you do to help you sleep?
Do you prefer a hike in the mountains or the sunny shores? Are you a nature lover or a beach bum? Why do you prefer one over the other? Do you take a side or do you remain neutral?
What's next on your travel agenda? Where haven't you been, but are dying to go? Let us know in the comments!
Dear Travellious,
I've been hearing more and more about travel insurance lately, but I'm not quite sure what it is or if it might be useful. Could you clue me in?
