Portland-based letterpress artist, Kyle Durrie is combing two of our loves, travel and printmaking. She is taking her studio on the road this summer, in her printmobile, Moveable Type. We were able to catch her at Miss Cline Press in Seattle and got to chat with the artists, make a print and learn more about the vintage machines they use. Check out Kyle's site and see if she's coming to a city near you or if your paths will cross on your summer roadtrip.

American Chinatown by Bonnie Tsui I love visiting America's Chinatowns, so American Chinatown: A People's History of Five Neighborhoods is definitely going on my reading list. The companion website features Bonnie's Chinatown photos as well as her hand drawn maps featured in the book.
Spunky Girl Monologues Santa Monica| 7 Things for $10 and Under
A woman after my own heart, Pam's picks for Santa Monica are cheap, fun, and tasty. I love it. (Also, am I the only person who immediately starts humming the Everclear song every time they see the words Santa Monica? )
Zoomata Italian Museum Says: Touch the Paintings, You Know You Want To
It looks like the Uffizi Gallery in Firenze is using touch-screen technology to let you get a closer look at some of its paintings. This time, you won't have a guard yelling at you and waggling their finger at you. I wouldn't want the job of cleaning those things off at the end of the day, though.
Brave New Traveler Are Americans Afraid Of Overseas Travel
The question asked in this article, and a lot of the answers aren't new either, but the question keeps being asked. But what about asking the same thing about people in other countries? I'd like to see a direct comparison/study of people in other countries. Or, I'd like to see a study of how many people in other countries leave their continent. An American can travel an exceptionally long way before they leave their country. Why doesn't interstate travel count in people's mind as travel? Thoughts?
Road Junky To Drink The Local Water
Do real, hard-core, travelers drink bottled water? I used to think no, like the article's author, but sometimes even the locals don't even drink local water.

The Nihon Sun Hungry For Fish? Local Fish Markets Across Japan
If you're a food lover, a fish lover, or a local culture lover, visiting a local fish market in Japan is a great way to get your fix. Plus, the local markets offer more personality than the bigger markets in Tokyo, so you can get a chance to meet a local fishmonger or two.
