Postcard from Italia: Above the Clouds

Above the Clouds
The weather has been downright dreary for the past few weeks in Italy. Regardless where we've been, the clouds seem to have followed us and it's made for some sluggish mornings and excuses for an extra coffee (or two.) The other solution for escaping the "winter is fast approaching" blues? Head to the top of San Marino. A tiny country inside of Italy, San Marino is perched high above the clouds and even on our cloudiest of days was full of sun.

I want to go here! It looks amazing!
This is... Wow!
Visited Erice in Sicily last month, and that also sits high up, but still in cloud cover.
San Marino now on 'must-see' list!
The views were really amazing. My only advice would be to go in the off-season, like we did. My heart sank when we arrived to see countless tourist shops, food stalls and a "Museum of Oddities." Luckily, most of these types of things were closed in November and we wandered the city without having to deal withe crowds.
