Faugh a Ballach! Half soft-pitch softball, half golf, Irish Road Bowling gives us all another great reason to visit the Emerald Isle. The whole point of the sport is to hurl a bowl (a small, metal ball) down a country road; going the furthest distance in the fewest number of throws.
A match can take a while, so if your attention span is limited, you may need the aid of a few Irish beverages. Even if you have patience, you may still want a few. After all, when in Rome...
So, the next time you're in Ireland (or West Virginia), find a match nearby and enjoy some local flavor. It sure beats another tour of the Guinness factory.

I just learned all about Hurling - I still can't quite figure it out. But this can work right here in Hungary...Hmm, I think my street needs a new activity.
I was amazed the first time I saw this, I wish I'd known about it as a kid. I grew up in the middle of nowhere Virginia, so the curvy mostly empty roads would be great.
If you could find a quiet street I bet this game would work anywhere.
It's mostly in Cork, you see guys on a country road in the summer. Don't they do it in France too? I think that's how it got to Cork.
