Thanks for the mention.

Great photo you found. I had to look 3 times, but now I recognize it despite the fish eye lens and the colors:

Entrance to Royal Yacht Club De Maas in Rotterdam, one of the oldest in The Netherlands. Great club for expats in and around Rotterdam to entertain. Beautifully located. They do sail and row occasionally as well. Reminds me to devote a post to them.

How and where did you get the idea to use this particular photo?

GJE (Guido)

I wish there was more to explain, but it's just one of the photos I stumbled across on Flickr when I did a search for "Netherlands" and it caught my eye. Thanks for the the explanation, look forward to your post on it in the future! :)

Hi Kelly

Thank you for the answer. I have been browsing Joep R's Photos a bit more and he makes tremendous photos, not only in The Netherlands.

Funny thing is that I have been a member of the yacht club when I had my office in the neighborhood in the 80ies. For a short period of time my office was located right behind the building on the photo (though you can't see it here). So i was sort of pleasantly surprised and getting all sorts of memories when I recognized the photo.

Thanks again
