Do you hate toting around a guidebook, but aren't ready to cut the cord entirely? Lonely Planet has just announced a pay by the chapter plan for their series of guidebooks. Instead of buying an entire book, they are allowing you to download individual chapters online. The chapters come in a pdf format, allowing you to print or digitally carry them around, as needed.
Chapters from their series covering all corners of the globe, from Africa to America are available and cost around $2-10. Strangely enough, Europe is missing but as Lonely Planet claims, they are still testing this out.
Get your chapters here before you go, or on the go. We can see ourselves using this feature for last minute trips when we haven't had the time to plan. Lonely Planet's advice over the hotel brochures would surely be a step up.
