New Year's Resolutions: Take An Unplanned Trip

Normally, I'm all for a good, well-planned trip. After all, sometimes you simply have to make plans, otherwise you'll just end up wasting a lot of time wondering what you ought to be doing. However, if you take that urge too far, you'll end up with an over-planned, completely non-spontaneous, possibly even boring, trip.
So, in 2009, resolve that the next time you get the urge to take a trip, toss the guidebook across the room, put the maps back in the drawer, and hop in the car. Or, just get a ticket, head to the airport with nothing but a carry-on, and see where the wind takes you.
