Morton's salt this isn't. The natives in Peru have been using these salt pans, coupled with the naturally salty streams from the Andes, to produce salt for the past 600 years or so. When coupled with the natural beauty of the mountains, do you really have any excuse NOT to visit? Have any travel foodies had any of this unique ingredient?

What a fantastic photo, the salt fields almost look like a giant quilt patched together. I can't say I've been lucky enough to go, but South America seems like an incredible place to travel. I'd be curious to hear of any people who have actually been to the salt fields.
