Sometimes, it pays to look for inspiration from places not traditionally considered "exotic." Today's image comes from the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. Don't overlook places that are local, or just less well-known, for your next trip.

I live about an hour from Red River Gorge and it is an absolute climber's paradise. I grew up camping, hiking, and climbing there and people drive all the way from Ohio and Indiana for a reason - its awesome!
There is a hostel and great climber's/traveler's scene....if you are coming through, just ask around for "Miguels Pizza" which is the local place everyone hangs out. Someone will welcome you with open arms to a bonfire party in no time. :)

Your pictures always end up on my desktop for the next week!
Thanks, I wish I could take credit for all these inspirational pictures as a photographer. Some of the images I find are simply amazing, which is why they end up here. How could you not want to visit after seeing this? :)
This picture reminds me of the vacation my family and I were in Lake Tahoe at Heavenly Resort. On one side of the mountain was the blue lake and the other side lake of clouds. It was Heavenly indeed.
