Heading to Chicago

In case you hadn't noticed, there's a theme going on in the last few posts here on Travellious. I've got Chicago on the mind and will be there in a week. But, it's just a stopping point on a cross-country trek I'm heading on tomorrow with fellow bloggers and Seattlites, Pam and Peter. We're crossing the country to Chicago to attend the meetup of the Travel Blog Exchange (and Pam's speaking at BlogHer.) Pam and I will be heading back to Seattle after bidding Peter farewell to places far and beyond (Pennsylvania and Australia.) If you've road-tripped or happen to live between Seattle and Chicago, we'd love to hear from you. Tell us what we should be checking out, eating, driving. (We have an awesome interactive map here.) We're ready to see America and we want the local's scoop. And heck, if you happen to be somewhere on our route, we'd love to meet you!

Austin is staying at home, so expect to see some great travel content regularly appearing here and some highlights from our recent trip to Italy. I'll be live blogging along the way both on Travellious (check out our On the Road blog), over on our TBEX roadtrip blog, and if the postal gods shine upon us today we'll be making videos over on the Travel Blog Exchange.

Speaking of roadtrips, Leigh over at the Future is Red is on her own roadtrip, traveling around Argentina this month. We're both really passionate about meeting locals (via twitter or in real life) when we travel and we'll be swapping stories about our trips through the Americas when we get home and look for a post from her here in the future, on traveling, couchsurfing, and local travel.

I hope to meet you in Chicago! I should be able to stop by the TBEX before my plane leaves.
