Cool Product: Kara Weaves Towels

What would you do without a good towel? For travelers who tend to stay in pricey hotels, finding something to dry off with is a given. But if you've found yourself in a hostel, a campground, or one of the many other places where complimentary towels aren't on the menu, then having a great towel can make all the difference between having a great day and a soggy day.

The next time we're on a trip, we'll be sure to pack some Kara Weaves towels in our bag. We recently ordered some for our home from the Kerala, India based company and were quickly impressed. The handmade towels are not only attractive, but made from an extremely lightweight Indian cotton fabric called thorthu. It may not resemble a traditional terrycloth, but the towels don't lose any efficacy despite their thin persona.

We quickly realized that these towels would be a godsend for travelers. They collapse to almost nothing in your bag and will take up less room than your favorite t-shirt. And....they dry quickly, no more wet towels to tote along.

If you're interested in getting some great travel towels, while also supporting a woman-owned business, check out Kara Weaves' website. But be sure to plan ahead, as these are handmade and production times may vary.

I have tons of these Indian towels myself. My grandmother sends them to me, and insists my so-called fluffy "turkish" towels just dont do the trick.

I love them, they've worked great in our house so far and are definetely going with us on our next trip.
