While some of the most remote in the world, Seychelles' beaches are also some of the most beautiful. Hidden almost 1000 miles northest of Madagascar, this collection of 115 islands can satisfy even the most seasoned beach bum.
The beaches of Praslin, Beau Vallon, or La Digue alone will keep you entertained and relaxed. Enjoy your time but be aware of the tourist police who will stop you from doing many typical beach activities such as playing ball or collecting seashells. If you must move around a bit, kayaking and diving are two popular ways to pass the time that won't earn you a scolding.
When the sun goes down on the Seychelles, the cuisine gets hot. Their Creole culture influences more than just their language: spicy curries will get you sweating.
If you're looking for more to do, keep in mind that this is mostly a resort community, and relaxing is the order of the day. Just let the stress and worries from home melt away.
The Seychelles have done a spectacular job at protecting their natural beauty; over 50 percent of the islands are protected nature preserves. These preserves are a great way to explore nature, including checking out one of the 150,000+ tortoises. The Vallee de Mai preserve is a great place to check out the native Coco de Mer Palm, which boasts the largest seed in the world (and is also provocatively shaped.) Weighing in at up to 20kg each, you don't want to be standing underneath one once they start falling.
